Magic Man

This is my entry for 's Hyper Girl Art/Fiction Contest. He offered the choice of having his OC Hyper Girl either in action or in peril... guess which one I went for?

I started by creating Hyper Girl. That presented something of a challenge because rather than just wearing a single logo like any other heroine, she had to go and have her (mercifully simple) logo duplicated on her sleeves. That took some trial-and-error to get it to work. And of course after all that you only see one of her sleeves in this image... I swear I must have undiagnosed OCD or something. Now I'm gonna have to create another image with her sometime that shows her other sleeve!

After I had HG ready to go I had to think of an scenario for her. I was going to ask about borrowing someone else's villain when I remembered, hang on, I have a pretty good-sized stable of supervillains myself! But which one could counter Hyper Girl's incredible strength? Well, the old standby of magic seemed like a good option (just like it is for capturing Supergirl, as can attest). So I let Monsieur Mort have a go at her. But he needed henchmen! The heroine ain't gonna manhandle herself, after all. And what sort of henchmen would a voodoo master have? Zombies, duh.

Anyway it's kind of too bad it's not Halloween for several months yet! And yes, I took the title from an old tune by Heart.
